Review – LoveTea Wild Excelsior Paksong Oolong

I recently came into contact with a company called LoveTea, who were looking for bloggers to promote their business. In return they sent me a sample of tea to review.

Now, I’m not a big fan of oolong, but this was the sample I received. I tend to drink regular tea, sometimes Assam and English Breakfast, strong, with milk but no sugar. But not to be deterred by my own preferences, I chose to honour my agreement, give it a try, and let you all know what I thought.

It was fine.

For those of you not used to oolong, it lies somewhere between black tea and green tea in terms of strength and flavour. It’s fresh and grassy, and if you tend to drink black tea with milk, a little milk may help it be more palatable. This sample from LoveTea was as advertised, but very drinkable; and coming from me, that is quite the recommendation. I wouldn’t say it’s “my cup of tea” but I imagine if you like oolong, this was one of the better ones.

I brewed it using the timings they gave, using my Bodum glass teapot; they did, however, provide a few paper sachets for you to make your own teabag, which I felt was a nice touch.

So if you’re in the market for regular deliveries of tea, or looking to expand your tea-drinking horizons, LoveTea is worth checking into.
