Skipping breakfast: the results

After two weeks of skipping breakfasts, I have…

(drum roll please)

… lost 2lb.

(trumpet wah wah wah)

What have I learned?

  1. I function better after eating breakfast.
  2. Sugar is probably my worst enemy.

So I’m back to reducing sugar intake. The tricky part is, the complex relationship I have with food. I know I use food as a comfort, and I have recently been trying to understand shadow comforts. The last few months have been a series of varying upheavals and varying intensities, and I stress-eat as a coping mechanism. The frustrating thing is, knowing this hasn’t stopped me, yet.

Until I can find healing within the dark places of my soul, I will not be able to achieve full health. And until I find all those dark places, I am fighting a losing battle.

2. Sugar FEAR is my worst enemy.
