Guacamole Recipe

Guacamole is essentially just mashed avocado, and anything else you do can be adjusted to taste. This is my favourite combination.

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 medium hass avocado
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tsp / 5ml ground coriander
  • 1 tsp / 5ml cumin
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1oz / 25g coriander
  • 1 tsp / 5ml ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp / 5ml smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp / 15ml lime juice

Method

  1. Cut avocado in half and remove stone. Spoon flesh from the rind into a bowl. Mash the avocado with forks or a masher. Add the lime juice and stir.
  2. Crush garlic into the bowl. Finely chop the coriander leaves and add to the mix, along with all the remaining spices (reserve some coriander or paprika for garnishing if desired), and stir until well mixed.
  3. Cover the bowl with clingfilm and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  4. Serve with tortilla chips or crudites as desired.
