Hummus Recipe
Not hugely authentic, but really easy to make. Tins of chickpeas can be kept on standby in case you have a hummus emergency.
Serves 2
Ingredients
- 7oz / 200g tinned chick peas, drained
- 2 tbsp / 30ml lemon juice
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp / 5ml cumin
- 1 tsp / 5ml salt
- 1 tbsp / 15ml olive oil
- 1 tsp / 5ml smoked paprika
- 1½fl oz / 50ml cold water
Method
- Rinse the chick peas, peel and chop the garlic. Blend the chick peas, garlic, lemon juice, water, cumin and salt in a food processor until smooth.
- Place hummus in a bowl, drizzle the olive oil over the top and sprinkle with the smoked paprika. Serve with warmed pitta breads.
