Jacket Potato Recipe
Needs no introduction. Or does it? This method is for baking, but if you have less time you can make a potato edible in the microwave. Wash and prick (VERY important if microwaving) then microwave on a plate or in a bowl for about four minutes on high - turn over and microwave for another four minutes. So versatile for a snack or meal.

- 8oz / 225g potatoes
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F / Gas Mark 6.
- Select a single potato weighing about 8oz / 225g for each serving. Wash all dirt from the skin.
- Prick the potato several times all over to reduce the risk of bursting in the oven. Place directly on the shelf (if clean) and bake for an hour or so until the outer skin is a darkish brown.
