Tikka Curry Powder Recipe

This is a good general purpose curry powder. I use it for tikka, daal, dhansak, saag, and coronation chicken.

Ingredients

  • 4 tsp / 20ml paprika
  • 4 tsp / 20ml ground coriander
  • 1 tbsp / 15ml ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp / 15ml onion powder
  • 2 tsp / 10ml salt
  • 2 tsp / 10ml dried coriander leaf
  • 2 tsp / 10ml garlic powder
  • 1 tsp / 5ml ground fenugreek
  • 1 tsp / 5ml cinnamon
  • 1 tsp / 5ml ground ginger
  • 1 tsp / 5ml cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp / 5ml ground black pepper
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 cardamom pods

Method

  1. Open the cardamom pods and empty the seeds into a pestle and mortar. Add the cloves and grind into a powder. Place these with all the other ingredients into a jar / airtight container which the mix can be stored in and shake well to combine.
